One casting app, three different jobs

Actors, casting directors and managers all touch the same audition. Take One gives each of them their own tools around it.

A casting call looks simple from the outside: a role is posted, actors apply, someone picks. In practice three people are doing three different jobs around every application. The actor wants to be seen. The casting director wants to find the right face quickly. The manager wants to know where every one of their actors stands. Take One is built around that split.

For actors: show the work

Actors post short audition videos to a vertical feed and join timed challenges, each with its own rules, role brief and script. When a real role opens, they read the scene script, record a self tape on their phone and apply. The application status then moves from review to callback in front of them, so nobody has to chase an email to find out what happened.

For casting directors: find the face faster

Casting directors create a project, post roles with a script, a reference video and requirements, and decide which of those requirements are mandatory. Applications arrive with their tapes attached. From there they move through new, shortlist, callback and selected, with scores, comparisons and notes along the way. When the right actor has not applied, they can search for talent and invite someone to the role directly.

For managers: see the whole roster

Managers set up an agency profile and a roster of the actors they represent. They send castings to their actors, follow every application from the roster with its tape and status, and talk to the casting director once an actor is shortlisted.

One account, phone and web

Actors usually apply from their phones, while casting teams prefer to review tapes on a bigger screen. Take One runs on iPhone, Android and a web panel with one account, so each side works where it is most comfortable and everyone sees the same application.
